Good morning Homesteaders! I wanted to introduce a topic that might concern you: Our aging farmer population.

Our farmer generation is aging out. The average farmer is 60+ yrs old. This is just one more reason that now is the time to homestead. Your kids will see the lifestyle choices you make and hopefully follow suit. Perhaps they don’t pursue this early on in life but later return to it in their 30s, yearning for those fond memories of their childhood (like one man in this link referenced).

Drop some thoughts down below, on how we can address this issue in our local communities, but more importantly starting in our households. A grassroots foundation, if you will.
